Steve Freeman

 

Steve is the most successful hockey coach in the University of Wisconsin-River Falls history. Over a nineteen-year year span, Freeman’s teams have complied an outstanding 340-172-41 win-loss record. His teams have won the WIAC championship in 11 of the past 15 seasons. He has been named coach of the year 11 times. His teams have played in five NCAA Frozen Four National Championships.

Freeman began his coaching career at Stevens Point Area High School where his teams won four conference championships and made several state tournament appearances. He also coached Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs to a state private school title in 1984.

Freeman has often been a guest speaker/instructor at USA Hockey clinics and has have been involved with numerous camps and select teams including the Wisconsin Selects and the WAHA Bantam camp.
