Ed Wilson
Ed Wilson grew up on Madison’s east side and played high school hockey at Madison East in the late 1950s. In the mid 1960s, he began a lengthy teaching career at Sun Prairie High School, where he and fellow teacher, Bob Kerwin, began an outdoor youth hockey program at Wetmore Park. His industrial arts classes built the first set of hockey boards and the hockey program began in Sun Prairie. He became the first high school coach in 1972, and passed that position on to Mike Dibble. Wilson then continued his involvement in Sun Prairie hockey as the manager of the new Sun Prairie ice arena.
