Ralph (Turk) Flory

Ralph “Turk” Flory was one of four Flory brothers who played for the Wausau Vets in the 1950s and early 1960s. Flory was also an outstanding baseball player for the semi-pro Merrill Rangers. Flory, who led the Vets to their third state title in 1959, was one of the top goal scorers in the state. In 1960, he set a national record by scoring seven goals in a state tournament game as the Vets downed Superior 9-7. Flory was named Most Valuable Player in the event.
